Lin Merage and the Kempe Center

As Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Solne Collections, Lin Merage oversees a large online store that sells a diverse range of environmentally conscious and organic products for men, women, and children of all ages. In addition to her work with Solne Collections, Lin Merage devotes much of her free time and energy to several charitable pursuits, including The Kempe Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Child Abuse and Neglect.

In 1976, The Kempe Foundation for the Prevention and Treatment of Child Abuse and Neglect was established to create a network of support and advocacy for the Kempe Center, which is currently headquartered in Aurora, Colorado, on the Anschutz Medical Campus. At the Kempe Center, international experts utilize a multipronged approach to combat child neglect and abuse, and to this end, they offer pioneering treatments, develop new programs, and train professionals to help children.

The Kempe Center has grown into a major player in the fight against child abuse and neglect in recent years. During 2010, the center provided services for almost 800 children across 40 counties in Colorado. The same year, the team of experts at the Kempe Center trained more than 6,000 individuals through numerous programs, including university classes, workshops, and international conferences.

In the years since its inception, the Kempe Center has sought to hold true to its mission statement, to “improve clinical service delivery systems” and to “treat child abuse and neglect in Colorado and throughout the nation.” Those interested in joining the fight against the maltreatment of children can help by making online donations and sponsoring or attending a Kempe Center event.
