Kobe Bryant and His Fight against Homelessness

On his way to the games, Kobe Bryant saw the children and families who have made their home on the streets. He admitted the sight did not sit well with him. “I wanted to help make a difference in homelessness and what better place to start than in my own back yard,” Kobe said.

This was the inspiration for the founding of the Kobe and Vanessa Bryant Family Foundation (KVBFF) which Kobe and his divorced wife Vanessa started in the streets of LA. KVBFF is raising funds to support efforts and programs that transform the lives of many homeless children and families by providing permanent dwelling places and educational resources for career development.

Kobe believes that homelessness is a major problem and is the root of many other social issues facing the city of LA. Most homeless individuals are severed from the systems that provide access to resources. According to reports, LA has the largest homeless population in the US, and this is what Kobe and his foundation would want to address.
